Your task is to examine the UNESO World Heritage List (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/ (Links to an external site.)) and write a thoughtful analysis. Your analysis should include:
- Comparison of UNESCO’s criteria and that of the National Register of Historic Places
- Consideration of what is preserved, where things are preserved, and why they’re preserved
- Consideration of what is endangered and why
- Consideration of power (e.g., how does what is and isn’t listed representative of power dynamics?)
- Examination of at least 3 specific listed sites (your choice) to illustrate points in your analysis
Papers should be at least 4 pages of text, well written, typed using a standard, 12-pt. font, and double spaced with 1” margins all around. You must use complete, proper citations (even for websites).
