As we have traced the origins of modern Conservativism in the past two weeks with Barry Goldwater and the Young Americans for Freedom in the 1960s through the Reagan Revolution and the rise of the Religious right in the 1970s and 1980s this week’s Easter Egg looks at the continued evolution of Conservativism in our own time, particularly around the figure of Donald Trump. Is Trumpism the new Conservativism?

Watch this 4 and a half minute video from the Atlantic last year and read the short opinion in Townhall: Is Trumpism the New Conservatism? (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

Townhall Opinion Piece: A New Political Paradigm. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

  1. In what ways is “Trumpism” different from the traditional Conservativism championed by Goldwater in the 1960s that culminated with Reagan in the 1980s?
  2. Do you think that Trump’s victory in 2016 and the changes within the Republican Party (GOP) since constitute an electoral shift/transformation?
  3. Do you agree with the Townhall piece? Is the traditional way of looking at American politics through the lens of liberalism and conservatism outdated and anachronistic? Why do you think so?

. Write it up in a robust paragraph. I need 2 different answers for each questions in two different files. I need it two sets with different writing and words.
