Food Image Discussion

For this discussion, search ARTstor.org for a work of art that depicts food. Embed the image in your post. Provide the artist, title, date, and medium of the work. Artwork titles need to be in italics.

Explain the importance of the food that is depicted in the work. Discuss the rituals related to that food item, or that is depicted/taking place within the art work. Do a little research and discuss the importance of the location and time period of the work (Cite your sources using MLA!). Refer to the topics in your text for ideas, but do not select an image from chapters 1-5 from your text. By discussing the importance of the food item, you will thereby also be discussing the content and context of the artwork (see chapter 1 terms).
