Write about the reception of Don Quixote in the U.S. since WW II

Discuss at least three literary works. One of these can be the panel you were on. In addition to the three literary texts, you may also choose to talk about references to Don Quixote in popular culture, including, but not limited to, film versions such as The Fisher King, directed by Terry Gilliam.

It is crucial to construct an argument, grouping together and comparing/contrasting the various approaches to Don Quixote in the distinct examples you analyze. 

You may wish to use the notion of “strategy of appropriation” as an analytical took for interpreting the way the author makes use of Don Quixote.

In trying to explain the similarities/differences between the works, you may want to consider, among other factors, the gender/race/ethnicity of the author, his or her regional identity, in which decade it was written, or what movement or other tendency it might belong to.

In analyzing the texts, you will want to consider factors such as those we have looked at all semester, such as: character, plot, theme, tone, narrative technique, irony, literary allusion, motif, etc.
