This unit will focus on parsing and the Horror genre. The notes on parsing involve use of the parsing technique to analyze written structures. This is not an easy task and ample time should be given to review the notes. We will then explore the social construction of Horror in our Part 1 and the Part 2 will reflect upon why people find different things frightening and what frightens you.

PART 1:
For your first Part 1, you will explore the social construct of fear and horror. We each come from a different place and culture. Tell us, what legends of horror are special to your culture. In other words, how does your culture connect to horror and what do they find frightening. Focus on how the story you read fits in with your cultural identity of fear.
Please write an essay of complete and well composed paragraphs (250 word minimum for the entire essay) Be sure to use in text citation and provide references for your sources. Wikipedia is not a source.
PART 2:
You already shared what your culture connects to horror, now tell me how you see yourself and your community react to fictionalized horror. What frightens you?
