In March, 1945, Branch Rickey, G.M. of the Brooklyn Dodgers, states to a select few that he intends to bring a black player to the Dodger organization. It was Rickey’s belief that integration would be good for America, baseball and the balance sheet of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Rickey signs Jackie Robinson to a contract with the Montreal Royals in 1946, eventually bringing Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Discuss the key figures behind this move, why integration in major league baseball took so long, and, the ramifications it had on the game and other clubs at this time. Put your thoughts into a paper 1 ½ – 2 pages with a cover letter.

APA style is preferred.Type your papers in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, along with a cover page. I have attached a summary of reading material if needed (cover letter not included in 1½-2 page count).
