The Autobiography of Malcom X

Delve on Chapter 2 of the autobiography and the cultural texts we looked at in class. How can the title of it, “Mascot” reveal the fixed parameters, the ceilings, stereotypes, and boxes that inhibit freedom, possibility, growth and potential for African American or other racialized subjects in the U.S.? For this reaction, you can use personal experience towards the end and share if you have had to face a “Mr. Ostrowki” of your own and in what ways were you boxed in and not allowed or blocked to the fulfillment of your own potentials.
