This assignment is about a fake scenario and is based on an opinion, no right or wrong answer is given towards the opinion on the following, “Your History professor has made you feel especially welcomed at the university; but in her first series of lectures on Colonial America she states (1) ‘The poor colored peoples have long been at an extreme disadvantage in America. (2) Sold into slavery, they came to this country from a culturally bankrupt and savage land. (3) Once in America, at least through the early period of American history, they were virtually unable to make any meaningful contributions to the growth and development of the United States. (4) Obviously, the colored are fortunate to live in the United States of America.’
Write an essay explaining your thoughts on the professor’s interpretations of the African American history. Please agree or disagree with all four points presented, include a topic and conclusion paragraph, and fully discuss your position on each of those four points.
