Write a 2 to 3 page essay in MLA format, and answer the question: could there be more than the traditional two genders that we are assigned at birth? Be sure to discuss an experience you had as a young child; an experience you witnessed another person go through at any point in your life; and describe and analyze a TV ad that promotes a product with the use of gender norms. Do a little research as well. Visit the library and ask to be shown how to find a “peer reviewed” or academic journal article on gender, and the research that’s been being done on gender as of late. Quote and cite that article wherever you choose in the piece; it’s best to use it as evidence for your claim, or even counter claim. Be sure to cite the ad (YouTube is a helpful source) as well as the academic journal article both within the text and under Works Cited.
