RAWLS EXERCISE:
students will complete a 4-5 page reflection paper responding to the following questions:
- Format (you may do this in question/answer format OR essay format):
- Introduction to your reflection paper
- Role number 1: list your two arguments; how did you feel in this role? Assumptions, stereotypes made about this person? How might that impact your work? Challenges in playing this role?
- Role number 2: Role number 1: list your two arguments; how did you feel in this role? Assumptions, stereotypes made about this person? How might that impact your work? Challenges in playing this role?
- Behind the Veil – what was your universal truth? Compare and contrast with the above responses. How is it different/similar?
- Provide a concluding paragraph/your summary reaction to this exercise – go beyond saying you liked it or did not like it – provide evidence of critical thinking applied to this exercise and your experience participating in it.
- References are not needed for this reflection paper (you may include references if you wish to do so to support your work).
- Spell-check your work prior to handing in. Read your work out loud to catch word choice, grammatical errors and to make sure your paper flows well.
