Psychology question on Erik Erikson

When considering Erikson’s lifespan theory, developmental psychologists have recently begun discussing the possibility of adding another stage called “Emerging Adulthood.” This stage would add an additional transition from adolescence to adulthood to reflect the change in ages at which children leave the home and become financially independent. Many college students are staying with their parents or guardians until after college, and are not fully independent until age 22-24.
