Select nighttime and daytime scenes from a movie or television drama and identify the various indicators of clock time (lighting, cast shadows, wall clocks, dialogue, sound, and so forth).
Select a scene from a movie or a video show that uses figure/ground reversal, with the object in motion remaining in the same spot relative to the screen borders but with the background doing the moving. Share that with the classmates and explain the importance of the scene from by describing how we are hardwired to perceive the figure rather than the ground. Comment on at least three students’ replies.
