Technological advances have improved, and will continue to improve, the correctional field. Innovations have been made in the areas of biometrics and other identification methods, less-than-lethal weapons (which allow for control of inmate violence without endangering lives), and facility security.

Submission Details:

  • By Sunday, October 19, 2014, in a minimum of 250 words, post your answers to the following questions to the Discussion Area:
    • Research and report on two specific technological innovations that have been implemented in the correctional field in recent years.
    • Describe the innovations, tell the class whether they have resulted in improvements to correctional operations, and give your opinion on their success.
