History of American Orchestra
If you have an orchestra in your school or community, go to a live concert. (Don’t actually do that) If not, visit the library, video store, or even the Internet and listen to an entire concert of American repertory by an American orchestra. Think about the following questions while you attend or listen to the concert. Can you identify the different sections of the orchestra and the instruments that comprise each section? What is the role of the different sections of instruments in the orchestra?
Write a short essay with images of your experience identifying the pieces interpreted by the orchestra, their origins, and what role the instruments played in the execution of the pieces.
