In 200 words or so, outline at least two reasons why the federal government or the states should regulate marijuna policy in the United States. You should use one of the constitutional principles listed below. You will be graded on the evidence you provide and your response to peers. You must respond to at least one peer.

This movie discusses California’s medical marijuana program. In your discussion, you should highlight some of the arguments related to:

1.) Supremacy Clause – When states and national government share powers over an issue, the national government’s laws are priority.

2.) Taxes / Spending for General Welfare – States and the national government can use many ways to raise revenue.

3.) Interstate Commerce – Congress can regulate commerce (broadly defined).

4.) National Security – Congress and the President can use national security as a broad reasoning to expand power.

5.) 10th Amendment Police Powers – states have the rights to regulate health, safety, welfare, and morals of their own citizens.

You may use whatever argument you wish, just make sure you tie it to some concept from the chapter /unit.
