This assignment is designed to compare and contrast two different generations and their views on gender roles. Interview a family member or friend who is from a different generation. (Either younger or older). Discuss in a minimum 3-page paper differences in perceived gender roles. The greater the age difference, the higher the potential for different viewpoints. Note, this paper is about gender roles. For the purpose of this paper, gender roles are defined (Oxford Dictionary) as “the role or behavior learned by a person as appropriate to their gender, determined by the prevailing cultural norms”. This is NOT about gender identity (Example: transgender) or about sexual orientation or about changing opinions about gender identity/sexual orientation. Papers that don’t concentrate on gender roles will be marked down.
