A PICO format can be used by nurses to better articulate their clinical questions and search for answers to those questions.

The IOWA model can be used to help nurses understand how to find answers to their clinical questions and to search for answers to those questions.

Clinical practice guidelines are systematically developed statements or recommendations that link research and practice and serve as a guide for practitioners. They create a bridge between practice and research.

Hospitals who are pursuing Magnet status (or who have achieved it) are incorporating evidence-based practice into nursing care. MUST USE THE IOWA model.
