Listen to the episode, The Problem We All Live With (Links to an external site.), from the podcast, This American Life, and read the Bell Hooks article, Confronting Class in the Classroom. (Links to an external site.)
Using critical thinking, show how the issues discussed in the two sources are or aren’t related. This will involve:
– Making a claim about the topics and their relation to one another (mini-thesis)
– Using logical arguments to show the connection or lack of connection between the sources and the ideas discussed
– Using quotes and paraphrases from the articles to back up your claims
– Correctly citing all quotes and paraphrases in-text (you do not need to create a works cited page)
Essentially, in 1-2 well-argued paragraphs, you need to establish a mini-thesis, and back it up with information from the two articles.
