The Rosetta Stone is one the most important tools we have to help us understand the Ancient Egyptians. Recent excavations have led to new insights regarding the history of the message on the stone in its tripartite inscription (Egyptian Hieroglyphics, Egyptian Demotic, and Ancient Greek) would unlock the understanding of the hieroglyphics.

Your quest is two part:
1) What new insights do the excavations at Thmuis tell us about the text of the Rosetta Stone itself? Does it record a battle; a need for a new Pharaoh to consolidate his reign; why did it need to be in three languages?
2) How do the artifacts (ceramics, coins, and remains illuminate this violent time in Egyptian history?
