Critical Book Review of The Theology of John Wesley

Critical Book Review of The Theology of John Wesley

. Students will write a 5-7 page critical book review (typed and double-spaced; no cover pages or works cited/bibliography pages) of Kenneth Collins’ The Theology of John Wesley. The review should summarize each chapter of the book and conclude with 1-2 paragraphs of reflection on the significance of Wesley’s theology for the work of ministry today. Summaries of chapter should be proportionate (don’t write 4 pages on the first chapter and then 2 pages on the remainder of the book; devote an equal amount of space to each chapter). In text citation is preferred (if you are discussing material on pp. 42-45, then simply put the page numbers in parentheses at the end of your paragraph – in other words, footnotes are not needed). Students should not cite from any other book or resource. This review will be due approximately 2-3 weeks after class starts. The exact date will be announced during the first week of class. Students may wish to begin work on this assignment prior to the start of class, but that is not necessary.
